Terms of Service
Independent legal review still pending. The content below is complete and current, but the processor / data-processing terms and the text-back acceptable- use basis are still to be checked by a legal professional before we take on real user volume. This is not legal advice.
These terms are an agreement between you and Jay Caldwell, a sole trader trading as QuoteSnap ("QuoteSnap", "we", "us"), based in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using QuoteSnap you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. What QuoteSnap is
QuoteSnap is a tool for UK tradespeople that:
- texts back missed calls — when someone calls your business and you don't answer, QuoteSnap can automatically send them a text so the lead isn't lost; and
- generates quotes — it turns a job description you type or dictate into a formatted, branded quote you can send to your customer.
It works alongside your existing phone number using call divert; you keep your number.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- One account is for one business. Keep your login credentials safe; you're responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into this agreement.
- You are responsible for your own customers and for how you use QuoteSnap in your business — see sections 4 and 5.
3. Subscription, free trial and payment
- QuoteSnap is offered on a single subscription plan of £19 per month (plus VAT if applicable).
- New accounts start with a 14-day free trial. No card is required to start the trial.
- At the end of the trial, if you haven't subscribed, your account becomes locked: you can still view and export the quotes and leads you already have, but creating new quotes and the missed-call text-back stop working until you subscribe. We do not auto-charge you at the end of the trial.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't store your card details.
- Cancellation: you can cancel any time from the billing portal; your subscription stays active until the end of the current paid period and is not renewed after that.
- Refunds: we don't offer refunds for part-used months. When you cancel you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, we retry and give a 7-day grace period during which the service keeps working; if it isn't resolved, the account becomes locked (as above).
- Price changes: we'll give you at least 30 days' advance notice of any price change.
4. Acceptable use — especially the text-back
Because QuoteSnap can send SMS on your behalf, these rules are essential and are a condition of using the service. You must not:
- use QuoteSnap to send marketing, promotional or bulk/spam texts. The text-back is only for replying to someone who has just called your business;
- text people who have not contacted you;
- fail to maintain your suppression / "do not text" list, or ignore an opt-out request from a recipient;
- use QuoteSnap in any way that breaks the law.
You are the data controller for your customers' personal data (see our Privacy Policy) and you must comply with UK data protection law (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) in how you use the missed-call text-back and contact your customers.
We may suspend or terminate your account — including immediately, where necessary — if we reasonably believe you are misusing the service, sending spam, or putting our systems or our SMS provider account at risk.
5. Quotes are your responsibility
QuoteSnap formats and structures the information you give it — it does not set your prices, verify your figures, or decide what a job should cost. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, pricing and content of every quote you produce and send. We are not liable for a mispriced, incorrect or under-scoped job, or for any quote you send to a customer. Check every quote before you send it.
6. Service availability
QuoteSnap is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee any particular uptime at this stage. In particular, the missed-call text-back depends on your mobile network's call-divert working and on our SMS provider (Twilio) — we cannot guarantee that any specific text is delivered. We may carry out maintenance, and may change or discontinue features.
7. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Subject to that, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with QuoteSnap is limited to the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or lost leads/customers.
8. Termination and what happens to your data
- You can stop using QuoteSnap and close your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms (including section 4) or non-payment.
- After termination, we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy — we delete it within 60 days, except billing records we are legally required to keep. You are responsible for exporting any quotes or lead data you want to keep before closing your account.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we'll give you at least 30 days' notice (for example by email or in the app) before it takes effect. Continuing to use QuoteSnap after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
